I've made numerous trips over the past several years, but I feel like a novice compared to some I read about. I was recently in Gruene, TX and saw a BMW that had 150,000 miles on it. The surprising part was that it was only a couple of years old, and furthermore, the rider was 69 and female. She has my respect!
My scooter travels have taken me to Ruidoso, NM, Ouray, CO, Alpine, AZ, Deming, NM, Terlingua, TX, Branson, MO, Key West, FL, Gilbert, AR, South Padre Island, TX, Leakey, TX, Hyder & Prudhoe Bay, AK and many other great stops along the way. Don has mentioned Vermont to me more than once, so I anticipate adding that to the list.
I also enjoy taking short day trips around the local area. I'm located in Prosper, TX (just north of Dallas), and although we don't have the "hill country" in our backyard, there's still some nice roads. One of my favorites' crosses a one-lane bridge into Oklahoma at Carpenter's bluff.
Some of the rides I've written about include:
