Ride 2006/2007

January 8
Leaving Pasto early morning was touch and go to some extent. They had thrown powder all over the streets as a part of their celebration, and even though it had been cleaned up, it is not a firm feeling on the streets.
The countryside was patchworked in pastures and fields as we rode to Quito. The border crossing at Ecuador was very time consuming with long lines. However, it didn't cost anything. We tried to make to Ricardo Rocco's moto house, but was a little late. He had let his helper go home at six and Ricardo had left on a business trip. I did talk to Ricardo on the phone and he recommended a tire shop for a tire and an oil change. We'll see how it goes.
