Ride 2006/2007

January 5
Today was a leisure day to find out about Cargo shipment and dismantle the windshield and mirrors in order to prepare for shipment. They received our bikes although they won't be shipped out until tonight around 3 am. There wasn't anything available to Quito until next week and Bogata is the only thing available to ship out immediately. Once we had the bikes prepped for the trip, we took a taxi back to the canal to get a better look. They also showed us a brief video (in english) on the history and statistics of the canal.
We're presently waiting to board Copa airlines to make our trip over.

Can you tell there are two boats in front of this ship?

Here's the first one. It cost him $1600 to pass

This one cost $20,000 to pass

The little choo-choo's are tugging away

The average cost per boat is $67,000 for passing through, so you can tell how small this ship is.
