South America

Ride 2006/2007

January 3
Today, we topped the mountain at 11.000 feet leaving San Jose on the way to Panama. The altitude was matched with clouds and cooler temps. The pineapple plants were plentiful at the higher elevation too. Once we came down from the cool mountain, we followed a large river for quite-a-few miles before turning south again to the border. The border crossing was fairly simple and very inexpensive. We were through there within an hour. We chose to stop at David, Panama because B.B. had recommended this hotel and it is nice. I don't have wireless in the room, but I can get it from the lobby. The manager met us at the door by coincidence and we mentioned B.B.'s name. He threw out the red carpet and we are walking around like we own the place
