South America

Ride 2006/2007

January 28
Today wasn't much but hard riding. The first 400 miles was the same ole desert I've been in for days. It was hot coming across there. After that, I got into some nice farm land. The first time I've seen anything like that. It is large scale farming just like you were crossing Kansas, Iowa or any other flat farming country. It was a nice change. I didn't get to take all the pictures I wanted, because it started raining across that section.

I felt sorry for this couple. They were getting fuel when I passed them. They passed me back, then had to stop at the next station (100 miles) to get fuel again.

The sunflower crops were plentiful, but the clouds had them hanging their head down

They have the strangest vehicles in South America. It is a Citroen 2CV. They were made in France and were common there in the 1950's and 60's (info furnished by Geoff Adams

The town I'm staying in is just like a rural town in Kansas
