South America

Ride 2006/2007

January 24
Sloowwllyy I'm making it, inch by inch, step by step........... maybe tomorrow. Today was full of obstacles. Wet and foggy conditions, along with a few construction sites, 2 border crossings, and 75 miles of gravel road, made it difficult to make much progress. The gravel road had several sections of surface conditions. There was the loosey goosey (loose rock) section, the wet and slimy section, the just-graded section, the hard-pan section, the washboard section, and the big rock section. A lot like the road to Prudhoe Bay, but not as long. If it weren't for the constant drizzle all day, I would have gotten more pictures. I met Ron Ayers Adventure group getting off the ferry today, but I didn't get their picture. I also saw plenty of Llama and a few emu, but I didn't have my camera handy. In fact, it stayed in the tankbag most of the time. Hopefully, it won't be raining tomorrow.

Oh...........and please be advised: My computer is not cranking-up very well. I think the hard and numerous bumps are taking it's toll. It may soon crash and leave me without communication.
