Ride 2006/2007

January 22
When I was a kid my great grandmother lived on Beverly Drive in Highland Park (Dallas). In that house was at least three stories with a front formal staircase and a rear "secret" staircase or as it seemed to a kid. The small staircase in the rear of the house was fun sneaking up and down the stairs and into my cousins apartment in the attic. This morning we were escorted from the kitchen through a maze of staircases and hallways to the shelter parking for the bikes there at San Carlos de Bariloche. It reminded me of my childhood.

Temps ranged from 47 to 87 degrees today where we ended up in the desert. We're getting closer and closer to our destination, but there's still fun to be had. We found another very quaint motel in the middle of this one-horse town that only had one motel to offer. It's just perfect. We're in Sarmeinto, Argentina.

I bet you're glad you're at work and don't have to do any of this hard labor.

More twisty roads

It wouldn't have bothered me if they would just stop you and check your paperwork, but he has to look at every page of my passport for his own entertainment.

The last of the Andes

Hereford cattle and sheep. We're in cattle country

The road is getting smaller
