January
14 We rode out of town along many beaches on this Sunday morning and you could tell it was probably going to be a busy day at most of those beaches. We don't see many folks around the beaches that we've been at, but Lima is a big town and Sunday is probably a popular day to hang out around the Sun. It was 70+ degrees most of the day. We rode through many miles of desert and
a lot of those miles were within view of the ocean. We would occasionally
break over a hill to a small valley of vegetation, but it was mostly hard
desert. We ended up in a very small town in a beach hotel that only cost
us $27 U.S dollars. |

I finally found the Pan American highway
as I thought it should be. However, it didn't last long. |
This small community has their corn laid
out so they can process it by hand. |

These lean-to huts make up a community
in the middle of the desert. I don't know how they get water or anything
else |
We passed miles and miles of chicken houses.I
don't know where they get the feed and water to take care of them. This
is right on the beach. |

Cotton fields |
This patchwork of farms in the valley
of the desert |

A truck accident with a farm tractor on

The same truck from another side. |

Miles and miles of open road |

These ladies wanted their picture taken,
then they wanted to see the picture |
Sand crept back on the road again |
|
We rode along many miles of beach too. |
Surf's up dude! |
