| This will be an overnight trip to Hinton, OK to camp Saturday night and return Sunday. There will be two opportunities to depart. The first departure will be with Jim Schumacher at 9 am from the Country Boy Store at 380 and 2478 (Custer Rd). The first group will be taking a much more scenic and fun route. Click here for the MapSource file of the intended route for the first group (more fun and scenic). The second group will be making a late departure from Frisco at 4:30 pm Saturday afternoon. We will take a pretty direct route to get up there and check-in. We will be departing from the Convenience store for Market Street Grocery at the intersection of the Dallas North Tollway & Eldorado Pkwy promptly at 4:30 pm (Saturday). Click here for MapSource file of the intended route for the second group (more direct). We'll set-up camp at our favorite spot,
then ease into town to gather supplies and/or have dinner, (don't
expect much, but it's not too bad either). Small towns are nice. You can read more information about the Red Earth Rally Lite on Mike Moon's schedule that is linked to the Lone Star site. Several of us rode up there last year and it is a nice setting for an overnight stay. There were several friends from Texas and Oklahoma already there enjoying the atmosphere. It is a small group and that definitely adds to the charm.

Some additional information from a note received from John Wood: June 5/6/7 http://www.touroklahoma.com/detail.asp?id=1%2B5U%2B3606 Camping fees only, no rally fee, its worth the cost. Lynda's OKie Pig sandwich on Sat. night only. On your own on Friday night. This years rally is dedicated to the memory of Randy Rinewalt whom we lost in March. The competition committee is busy working on this years event and is led by Science Officer Rankin. Any recommendations for the event will be seriously considered for a very short time by him. It will be difficult to top "The Boil Off" from last year but he vows to try. If you have any questions please e-mail me directly at: or join the discussion at: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/OKAirheads/ There will probably be very little wheat harvest activity this year but remember the roads could have both slow moving vehicles and spilled wheat on them. Deer are plentiful and vicious. John Another update from John has some "things to do" for Saturday listed below from an email. --- On Tue, 6/2/09, John Wood <lkwood@...> wrote: > From: John Wood <lkwood@...>
