This ride will depart the metroplex Saturday morning after breakfast and have an early arrival in Fredericksburg so you can enjoy walking the streets of downtown. We will continuously add information to this page as we complete it, so check back often. We'll start with the Hotel information so everyone can pre-book in order to secure a room. The hotel is within walking distance of downtown and won't be vacant very long. Therefore, we're also linking a sign-up page so that we can monitor the number and do a better job of planning

New info from Stephen (below)

The routes down and back are attached. Pretty much a "just get down there" route headed down. And the route back is basically a ride up 16. I threw in the Willow City Loop into the early morning ride home on Sunday. There's not much Hill Country scenery on this trip, so I wanted to hit the Loop early to give what scenery we find, the early morning light. Vicki and I pre-rode the route and all the roads are good, but the Loop scenery is pretty well washed out by the sunlight in the afternoon. 2 weekends ago there was no water over any of the crossings and no slimy places to worry about. Of course that could change in a month.

The route back is a run up 16 and over to Hico and maybe Stephenville. Then on home on 67. By the time we hit Hico/Stephenville, we can decide on a lunch stop at either the Koffee Kup or the Hard 8 BBQ. (I vote for BBQ right now)

On the way down, I scheduled a break/potty stop in Cleburne, 2nd break/potty stop/gas in Hamilton and a light lunch stop in Burnet. Vicki and I found a nice little sandwich shop in the heart of Burnet call Tea-licious. http://www.tea-licious.com/ The menu on the Web site needs to be updated, because they have more items when you actually get there. Vicki and I tested the Philly Cheese-steak and the Turkey sandwiches, as well as the Broccoli Cheese soup. Yum!. They have a small banquet room set up for us at 1:15 pm on Saturday. There's another group in there from 12 to 1, and they asked to give them 10-15 minutes to clean up before we're seated. Tea-licious is on the Courthouse square, so if we get there early, we can visit a shop or two until they are ready.

When we get to F-burg, we'll have to be on our own for dinner, or group up and invade someplace. I never did find a spot that was willing to make room for us in advance. I guess the economy is not hurting in Fredericksburg Texas!

I'm playing phone tag with the management of the Denny's that's over by the High School, for a set up for breakfast Sunday. The hotel has rolls, bagels and such for breakfast, but I wanted to make a real breakfast option available if anyone wants to do that. I believe Vicki and I will do Denny's.

So... here's a primary schedule for the trip down (we'll just wing it on the way back)
