Be gassed and ready to depart 8am from Original Pancake House (2900 Lemmon Ave West, Suite 200, Dallas, Texas 75204, tel: (214)-528-7215). Opens for breakfast at 7am if you want to fuel yourself before leaving.
Short section of Interstate then country roads onwards. We will stop for gas in Mexia and continue to College Station. Here we will stop to visit the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. We will travel on to the Antique Rose Emporium near Independence for a wander around and then to lunch just north of Brenham at the Southern Flyer 50's Style Diner. Awesome burgers, fries, milkshakes and onion rings.

There is an optional loop ride from Brenham to Burton, Round Top, Lake Somerville and back to Brenham. Approximately 85 miles with photo stops along the way: Burton Cotton Gin, Burton Railroad Depot, Pig and Whistle Pub, Moore's Fort and various historical buildings and shops. We'll follow twisty stretches of road back along south side of Lake Somerville to Brenham. For those people not wishing to do the loop Brenham downtown offers shopping, museums, food and antiques.

Route takes about 6 hours with stops – a bit longer if we stop for lunch (we'll decide on the day).
